Today Governor Josh Stein announced the following Special Superior Court judge nominations:

Caitlin Poe, to fill the vacancy created when the Honorable Julianna Earp retired.

  • Poe has served as a litigation attorney since 2013 and is currently a partner at Williams Mullen. She also clerked for Judge James Dever III on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia and her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Richard Worf, to fill the vacancy created when the Honorable Michael Robinson retired.

  • Worf currently serves as a shareholder at Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. and has represented clients in civil litigation for nearly 19 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.

“These two new judges are attorneys experienced in complex commercial litigation who have dedicated themselves to the practice of the law,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Their judgment and experience will be invaluable, and I look forward to their service on the bench.”

Governor Stein sent the nominations to the General Assembly, which must confirm the appointments by joint resolution.
